This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. I used to be into R/C boats and cars. Never got into plains though. I remember seeing ducted fan jets before, but now they actually have turbines!?! I guess they have been around a couple years but heres a sweet video, (the turbines are later in the video) Article (with pics)
Video

Wow! Those things are awesome, they sounded just like real jets on that video! And the article said 150 - 300 mph!!! There is a small field beside the local municipal airport here where a bunch of people fly RC planes, but I have never seen a jet there before. I have heard of the ducted fan ones, but not the turbines. If I had a spare 7k sitting around, I would get one.

They are a lot of fun. I use to fly R/C electric Jets, but after you crash a few they are not as much fun. At 70mph + one wrong turn and it is disaster. My last one was an F-16 ducted fan jet. A lot of fun until it hit the gound and left a nice rut. I stick to prop planes now.

a buddy of mine flies RC jets, they cant fly them at many RC plane fields because, well for one, any contact with a person and a jet = pretty certain death... 250mph is about avg for em, also when they go down, unlike rc planes, they do fireball.. KABOOOOOOOOM!

as a side note, i'v heard those stealths are a biach to fly, not enough wing surface and the elevator control on them is crappy, same for the F22 raptor jets, f-15's and A-10's are really cool though, some of the a-10's have twin turbines, holy jesus fast!

holy smokes that chopper was awesome!

-Old Man Rant-
Who's the dumbass who put the music to that video? Why would I want to listen to some crappy band when I want to hear the jets themselves???? The MTV generation needs to learn that not everything needs music
-End Old Man Rant-

But those jets are COOL!
