I have an early 99 Cougar V6 and ATX.. Maybe you can help with my problem.I can't find motor mounts or inserts for the car.. I'd like to get Energy Suspension inserts but they list only a kit with two.. very suspicious.. I think like must v6 duratecs there should be three?? Any help with this problem will be greatly apreciated.

i dont know about the cougar but as i understand it there are 2 motor mounts and 2 roll restrictors....mounts are over the atx and on the belt-side of the engine (right side top)

the roll restrictors are in front near the radiator and one in back near the firewall i think....

im confused about mounts too...i need to replace mine as well but dont know if i can use svt mounts and restrictors since i have an atx...i dont know if it makes a difference but i've only seen it said that the svt mounts will work on mtx cars only

as i mentioned im dont know abut the cougar tho

The only ES motor mount insert is for the front one on the underside near the radiator. All the rest are just stock components. The SVT does have a beefer rear underside mount but I think they put it on all Duratec v6's after the SVT. Check out SP Motorsports.com. The only other option is to replace the little shock near the underside front mount but all that wull due is transfer engine vibration to the frame and isn't needed unless in full race situations.

BTW the ES inserts are for MTX cars only.
The MTX has different (much beefier) roll resistors.

The sales guy at ES said the parts would fit an ATX but I didn't really believe that.. Are the engine mounts a different size from the ATX also?? Quess I need to talk to a good Ford parts man. This is quite a problem for the ATX..I need a stronger-beefer insert for my car..

im sure he's a busy man but give bill jenkins a try...we'll know what u need and i think he drives a contour to boot so he really has a clue

he's vegasbaby on ceg and works for signature lincoln mecury in las vegas...great deals on parts....

as for me i'll probably just stick with replacing stock with stock and that should be good enough for me

thanks for the info andy and demon wink
