last night i was just cruisin in third and the light comes on and i don't know why. my car has 63000 miles on it and there are no strange noises that i can tell. what are you alls thoughts and what do you think that i should do

I assume that you have a 1996+ model...

You will need to get the CEL code read in order to determine the problem. You can get it read at the $tealer, AutoZone, or a friend with an OBD-II reader.

Once you have the code, post it, along with any other symptoms, on the board and you will probably get a few responses. Also, be sure to include the year, make and model of your car (and any other info that might be pertinent).

It also may be nothing. Something as stupid as
leaving the gas cap loose will set them off....
I had one last week and the car was running fine,
a couple of days later, the CEL went out.

drove it today and everything seems fine no noises other that the intake howl i will go to Auto Zone and see if they can look at it. this is my first ford and i used to build honda/acura's for street and race, now i actually have a decent car......just want to make sure it is ok
