what kind of work is involved in swapping bumper covers? im putting new ones on (front and rear) are there any bolts/brackets that are prone to breaking easily? does anyone have an estimated time this might take and what tools would be required? thanks

What year you have? I think that all the rears are the same no matter what year and this is how i got mine off.

pre 98 front.
1. jack up car
2. remove remove rear wheels(if nessecary, some people can squeeze in there) and fender linings
3. there are two screws on both side where the bumper meets the fender, remove them.
4. remove the bottom support bracket on each side.
5. between the headlights in the grille area is two push screws that hold the bumper to the healight bar thing-a-ma-jigger(black piece that the headlight housings sit in)

rear bumper:
1. jack up car
2. either 10 or 13mm socket, short not deep well
3. there are two nuts^^ of the left side of the bumper reinforcement and two on the right, loosen them but dont take fully off yet
4. remove rear wheels(if nessecary, some people can squeeze in there) and fender linings, at the corner of the bumper where it meets the fender area is one torx(well it was on mine, but not always the case with others) screw that need to be removed, repeat on other side
5. remove the nuts from the bumper reinforcement and slide bumper back.

I cant remember if the corners slide onto a hook or they are just screwed in on the side like explained above.

may be a lil comfusing but i think i covered it

oh and disconnect foglights if you have them. and time should be about 25 to 45 minutes max per bumper.

the front i can't help too much with...but I dont know why he would say to remove the "rear wheels" to take off the front. The rear bumper will take you five minutes to do once you've done it as much as i have, otherwise it will take you 7 minutes. j/k On our cars there are the same 4 bolts under the car behind the bumper cover and I beleive they are 13mm. There is also the two torx screws but also two more phillips head screws (one on each side) you will see them no doubt. you dont have to take the wheels off. I'm 6'4" 220lbs and managed to squeeze my arms in between the wheel well and the wheels with very little trouble at all. Good luck. if you check out my sig you can see where the 4 bolts(2 on each side) are located.

edit: the two torx are going to be going into your fender liner itself right on the edge of the bumper, and the others are going to be tucked up inside the upper lip of the wheel well.
