Just wanted to post some information regarding the problem with the AC/Heat fan speeds. If anyone's fan only works on low or high speed, replace the blower motor resistor. I forgot to right down the pqart number. I only paid $9.57 for it. This is for a 99 SE V6, but the earlier models were recalled for this and the wiring harness, which probably explains why the replacement OEM part is redesigned. No recall on the 99 though?

Might want to check the wiring harness to it also to make sure that everything is still intact.

It is very simple to replace.

1. Pop the glove box out. (open and push in the two sides and drop down. then lift straight out)
2. Looking in, towards the left of the firewall you will see a white rectangular plate.
3. Remove one Torx screw located at the bottom and pull out.
4. Disconnect harness.
5. Reverse procedure.

That is one problem down. No on to my bigger one. I recently pulled the codes and got a 420 and a 430. Did some research on the site and sounds like I need to replace the cat. Is that correct? I have about 112,000 on her now, (yeah, I drive too much), so it probably should be done anyway. Just got done replacing all the O2 sensors and reset the computer. CEL was off for a while, untill it tried checing the cat. Any ideas?

Thanks for all the help.

Why did you replace all four O2 sensors?

Highly unusual/unlikely that all four failed at same time. When such is suspected it's usually the heater circuit.

Thanks. You are right, it is very unlikely that they would all go at once. I replaced all O2 sensors, just to get them over with at the same time. I had a CEL before and the codes pointed to two O2 sensors. I just did all of them at this time to be done with it. This was unrelated to the heater problem. Just wanted to let people know how to fix that. My main problem right now is the 420 and 430 code. I know it is not the O2 sensor because they are new. Must be the cat?
