Hey guys, my car is going to be the end of me!! Unless I can get it figured out. My exact simptoms are as follows, during idel car drops below 500 RPMs, doesnt matter if im in drive, park, neutral, car starts to chug or sometimes die. Once the gas is pressed it takes off just fine. Dont notice anymore hesitation when I press the gas. I have replaced a number of parts:
Spark plugs, plug wires, coil pack, fuel filter, PCV, IAC, new air filter, MAF, DPFE. (Ford ran a diagnostics test and said I need a new MAF, DPFE)
What can I do now. I guess I bring it in if no one has any more ideas.

I think the problem got worse when I left my lights on and had to have my car jump started, could this cause a problem, also when I changed the IAC out I didnt get a new gasket??????????????

Grab the MAF and put some electrical cleaner ALL over the place, boy !!!

Try cleaning the hell out of the MAF. I used some Carb/TB cleaner and sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. She had a small change afterwards. Clean the T/B. Run a fuel SYSTEM cleaner. Make sure you fill up your tank afterwards.

One thing that happened to me was that I accidently put in the wrong spark plugs. Check to make sure you have the same plugs in all cylinders and then make sure that number is right for your zetec.

MAF is brand new put it in 2 days ago

Did you check the PCV hose for leaks?

Was the fuel filter changed?

I havent done the pcv hose, it seems like it would be difficult? Its a metal hose isnt it. How do u go about changing it out?

And yes I did the fuel filter, fuel pump tonight, ( car seems to feel a little better all the time, but still has a f'd up idel after I drive it around a bit. I have noticed a whistling coming from the engine compartment somewhere, does this indicate a vacuum leak?

I bought a code puller, and I dont get any codes!
