I love my contour even though it's sitting 2 feet in the air on jack stands with it's guts spread all over my garage floor!! Hehehe...not long now though until she's all back together again (and beating up on the local rice on saturday nights!).

Yeah, anyone want mine?

My engine doesn't race -- it just stutters and has since new. Unfortunately it's the only car I own with working A/C, and I'm in upside down enough that I'm effectively shafted.

Last Ford for me.

Hmmm... Ignition problem. Sounds like a bad coil pack, wire or plug.

Yeah, I wish it were that simple frown

It's actually poor programming on SVT's part. The spark advance goes *negative* confused during throttle transitions at anything under 3500 RPM. THe dealership and Ford (regional rep) refuse to acknowledge it as abnormal. To an extent it isn't, since the other two 2000 CSVTs I've driven do the exact same thing. Extreme retardation of the spark. Very easy to see with a OBD2 scanner.

I did manage to work around it by forcing the TPS to never go above ~40% (2V or so); full-throttle above 4000 wasn't as good but at least it didn't stutter like a mofo. One of these days I'll get off my lazy butt and make a shunt that can be triggered off of MAF voltage or something, so it ends up clamping the TPS below ~4k and letting it show full voltage at higher.

Just pisses me off that they claim it's normal (and had the gall to tell me I must not know how to drive a stick... uh yeah mad ).

Why don't you just sell it then, if you really don't like the car? Those hi-tech bandades for the TPS circuit only hamper power output, and I don't know about you but wide open throttle is the main time when I like driving my car the best!
