OP OhSigmaChi Member O Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 650 San Angelo,TX	I had previously thought that the only US fords w/ the Zetec engines being offered were the Focus and Escape, but I was looking on Carsdirect.com last night and noticed that the escort was still offered if only in 2-door form. Does anybody no if the engine in the 2002 ZX2 is still VCT on the exhaust, since the ones in the Focus ZX3 is not? Ohsigmachi '96 GL MTX Zetec SS (SuperSleeper) Suffice it to say my mod list has become so long that it is just ridiculous

Most run 16 flat stock, and modded they run 15.5 no problem. Not bad when you consider it weighs in a 500 more pounds! hunter green 96 mystique mtx, sabb side markers deep tints car bra., K & N filter, hyper white low beams, after market fogs, JVC Kameleon head unit, 600 watt amp with 2 10" kicker subs, soon to come new rims New adition 01/11/2002 The original 95SE in Midnight Red all the toys including traction control Fog light mod, lightmoonroof switch from a focus, power antena (still wiring it up) post 98 sail panels, new water pump , Bosch quad plaitnum plugs, and a new Cat.

It was slower than my 1996 Escort Auto with the 88HP horsepower Engine (And I didn't think that was possible). The rental had no torque on takeoff. Couldn't make it up the hills around me well either. Maybe it was just that one, but it definitely was slower and noisier than my '96. "My Name is Richard. bzcat Member B Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 289 Irvine, CA, US	VCT = yes ZX2 for some reason is the fastest stock Zetec vechile in the US (except for the new SVT coming out...). I don't believe it had anything to do with VCT which gave it an extra 5 hp (which is nice but doesn't make much difference). I think the difference is ZX2 has a Mazda sourced MTX tranny with more favorable gearing than the MTX 75 on Euro-inspired Fords like Contour, Cougar, or Focus. SoCal NECO
