I need to replace my timing belt on ford contour svt 98 where can i find this part, they didn't have it in autozone or auoparts or napa. is dealer the only option? f832-8620-aa was written on it
"serp belt"? is that the longest one on the left side of the engine?(passanger side)also connected to pulley, alternator? if so i going to check autozone again and see if they have it...
Yes, serpetine belt is on the passenger side, powers the a/c, alternator, etc. On duratecs, the waterpump (and its belt) and timing chain are on the driver's side.
98.5 SVT
91 Escort GT (almost sold)
96 ATX Zetec (i brake to watch you swerve)
FS: SVT rear sway bar
WTB: Very cheap beater
CEG Dragon Run - October 13-15
Do yourself a favor and buy an OEM serpentine belt and not an aftermarket one. The aftermarket belt I bought had this awful whine because it was cogged. No doubt it would last longer, but the noise was unbearable. I finally changed it back to the OEM belt and it's nice and quiet once again.
