I got my car back from the tranny shop. When I went snooping around the engine bay to see if they had left me with any problems I found a ground wire that isnt attatched to anything on either end. I am pretty sure I know one end goes to the tranny but the other end I dont know. Could someone let me know where both end go for sure.

Car info and wire description (color, braided, length, termination details) might help you solicit a response.

Sorry bout that, 98 svt. Black wire, est. 1.5 feet, round 8mm or 10 mm end connections. Should be the only grounding wire to the tranny. I believe it connencts somewhere to the top of the tranny where the two transmission casings meet.

Hi,

On my 2K SVT there is a ground wire bolted to the wheel well, just under the end of the conical air cleaner where it joins the boot that runs into the inner fender and attaches to the tranny approximately 1.5" aft (towards driver) of the rubber boot for the hydraulic clutch/bleed fitting. It is sandwiched between a small black bracket used for a harness anchor point and the tranny case.

Maybe thats it...Ed smile

OK I need some more info (i think) Is there two wire connecting to the main ground on the tranny? The large wire goes to the battery, and there is another one right? If so where does this one go?

Hi,

The only two ground wires to my tranny are: the one listed in my first reply and the main ground cable that attaches, to the bell housing actually, at a point just below the water temp sender.
