When I drive my car for more than 15 minutes or so there seems to be alot of heat that gets thrown out from somewhere in the footwell even though the climate control is off. It's been happening for a while, but it's not a big deal in the winters but now it's summer and it's getting annoying. Any ideas here? confused

maybe some insulation or something has come loose under the dash or in the firewall???

did you have any work done on it before u started noticing the extra heat??

I too have noticed this quirk, however, I think I may have found the problem on mine. I was nosing around the footwell the other day and noticed that the boot that seals the opening where the steering column passes through the firewall has deteriorated, and it has cracked and torn slightly with age. Could be the heat comes in there.
I have a new gasket seal on order so I'll see if it helps...

I noticed that the footwell area gets hot when the main cat is clogged up. Just one of the symptoms of this dreaded contour disease...

No pre cats in my car and the main cat has been replaced with the one on my SHOShop y-pipe.

I'll check the boot on the steering column today. Thanks!
