hey all,

been away for a while (work super busy). I've been having thoughts of selling the svt. I got the secondaries opening, which was great. Now my PCM is on the fritz and being replaced.

problem for me is I need reliability now, as I don't have time anymore for car tinkering and fixing. Maybe just too advanced of a car for me w/all the mods, I don't know.

So, with svts selling cheap, what could I expect if I sold mine? Tryin to get input...thanks...Details below..

doode!!!
that sucks!
but its understandable if you feel the need to sell.

as for value...the elky mesh adds $2000 to the book value of the vehicle!

thanks Mike... I'm sure thats the case.

any ideas on what I could sell her for? I'd rather sell her on ceg rather than ebay or auto trader, but I need an idea on value. how do you estimate that?

someone give me a starting point. I know what I paid from Corey and have since put about $4k into her....

I'd be willing to guess at LEAST $15k, probably a couple thou more than that. There's a T-Red on ebay, stock, going for $11k, and it's in decent condition. But, considering all the aftermarket gear you've got- performance AND audio, you should be able to command a decent price on it, easily.

The hardest part is finding someone who wants all that stuff. I personally view that many mods as a deterrent to purchase, since there are "more things that could go wrong". It's just a matter of finding the right buyer at the right price. Good Luck!

doug, yea, I realize that. I am just looking for a starting point at which to post....

I was hoping for $15/$16k....do others think thats reasonable?

I thought someone else was selling their FId car, but I checked the classifieds and couldn't find it.

imo, i think $15k-16K is too high.
$4k into it doesn't mean $4K out of it.
I'm not sure how many offers you'd get on it with that price, especially with Simon (fst4dr) selling his in the classifieds for $10,500 obo...

Please don't take it the wrong way - I just think $15-16K is too much. I think you'd be better off offering $12K max.
Hopefully someone from around here would purchase it to avoid hassle with out of state purchases.

Also - another thing would be add up TMV of a stock SVT in the conditon of your car and the mods to the car (not including labor) then come to a decision from there. I would say cut the value of the mods in half and add it to the TMV and see where you end up.

just my $.02

btw - DON'T SELL IT!

hehe...

thanks Hugo. I dropped an ad in the classifieds for $16 OBO to start. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna sell, just inticing the market. we'll see if anything comes of it in a week or so.

don't worry, none taken personally!

Ok..good.
I was having a tough time getting bites on my SVT for 10K a while back (when the values were somewhat higher but the economy was at its lowest)

so now that alot has been fixed wouldn't it be very reliable now?

I mean I have had my Mystique since 2000 and 83k miles, now 120k. This past year was the first problem i had, wheel bearing and the radiator. Put that money in and now the car is great and will last. The only thing I could see having to do in the future would be the clutch, but i will deal with that when i come to that point.

So I say just keep it
