I am in such a schock right now, and not the best luck with cars in my life so far. My 98 Mystique i just bought tuesday, the tire blew out while i was driving in the rain on my way to new orleans for the msu football game. The right front tire blew out i have now learned and i thing i started to fishtail due to this, and was trying to correct it but it just spun me around and off the road..OVER a ditch concrete calvert and into soft brush.
When i got out and checked on the body and all, everything seemed fine and engine and all is perfect. but i noticed the hood was shifted and a little gap in the driver side doors. Me and my friend were both ok thank god...
I was in denial looking at the tire tracks, and someone explaining to me what happened, i didnt belive i went over the culvert, unto the tow truck pulled me onto the road and i then saw the damage underneath where i scrapped into it flying over it. It twisted part of the uni-body from the width of the car, right between the front and back seat.
we are very lucky thatwe went over that calvert like we did, with almost like something holding us up, and we didnt flip. Its a miracle truthfully.

SO thats it for my car, but th next part of the weekend was the friend that was coming to help us, and going to follow the 2 good samartians (drove us wherever, and stayed with us for hours..thank god there are still people in this world like them), while we were following the tow truck, he turned around when he saw us and while trying to follow us..we couldnt see him...but he flipped his Jimmy 4-6 times and looked like something noone could come out of alive.
To wrap it up, thank god he did, but he lost from the fingernails up on his left hand, they had to be amputated.

Well, insurance will look at that tomorrow, i yanked the stero system out this afternoon when we stopped to look at it, and total it out. I was starting to enjoy it and planning to do some work with unisys on here soon.

I honsetly dont know what i will do as this is the 3rd wreck in almost a years period with all being totals (97 contour,flippped)(98contour,parked in front of my house, still not settled),(98 mystique, frame damager from blowout)

My insurance is going to be outrageous, I will have to find something that will have cheaper insurance.

I didnt even have it a week, less than 400 miles...

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear that. That's crazy. I am glad you and your friends are ok, and that there really are nice ppl still left in the world.

Get another Contour or Mystique, keep your insurance down as much as possible.

Considering he's had three and totalled all in the past year, I don't think he's having much luck with Contiques. Unfortunately I would recommend anything but!

Really...

At this rate (including all the other stories on here lately) it's going force the insurance to go up on these cars & a 16 yr old would be better off buying a turbo supra 'cause contiques are way outta their league ...statistics statistics statistics

I am glad you're OK. Wild stuff! I would be in shock too. Frankly, I think I would start walking everwhere if it was me - I just couldn't take the insurance costs at this point - WOW.

For your next vehicle, I would suggest either another Contique (they've kept you alive) or perhaps something even safer - a big, fat, Grand Marquis. Its like a building on wheels.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
