I just recently bought my 3rd in the contique line of cars,
a 1998 mystique reddish marroon with the v6 with 84,6xx miles on it.

GOt a couple questions about the car since i dont know anything about mystiques.
first off, the dashboard/radio console is woodgrain?
is this standard or added on? i wondered since a nice stero system has also been installed.

and second, where is the switch for fog lights?
i can not figure out how to turn them on...

yes the woodgrain is stock, however it's just plastic that looks like wood.
(I painted mine)
pull out on the headlight switch to turn on the fogs(only works if the headlights are on)
hope this helps,
congrats on adding another 'stique to our army!

If you have factory fog/driving lights, the headlight knob should pull out once you're in the "headlights on" position. Additionally, the headlight switch. Additionally, there should be a "foglight" icon on the right hand side of the switch knob, with an "arrow" figure.

Yeah, the woodgrain dash is standard on Mystiques, one of the things to upscale the Mystique from the Contour. The fake woodgrain plus the classier grill sold me on the Mystique rather than the Contour when I bought mine.

ok..well next step would be the fuse i guess?
which fuse controls the fog lights?
i have a haynes manual but its at my house several hours away and wont be home till next weekend probally...

also, the overdrive works fine, but when you punch the utton to turn it off, the light on the dash doesnt come on, but you can tell by the change on the tachometer

Not too hard at all to replace the bulb.

I know that I have plans for next weekend, but not the weekend after. That would be the weekend of the 27th. We can hook up and work on some stuff if you want.

Might want to think about that tranny fluid also. When we get together, we can just do a go around if ya want.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mystiques!!

I love my fake woodgrain! I would never think of painting it! But that is just me. I remember at the Nashville meet we had back in April, a few people asked me if I installed that. I told them that it came with the car. I also got a lot of compliments on the overall dash layout. Wish I could take credit for it though. Two things that flipped most out about my LS : the overall dash and the rear dome. There were a few comments on the map light and sunroof controls also. There are a lot of little differences between the two cars.
