I don't know where the proper place to post this at is, but I saw the bad clutch post and figured what the hell. I got my clutch replaced last february and now I am experiencing slipping. 3rd gear test failed.. revving high without speed keeping up sort of things. I was told that it could be my slave cylinder that is going because my clutch is so new. So my question is what are the effects of a bad slave cylinder and if anyone has gotten this work done at a shop/dealer/ or otherwise, what kind of price am I looking at if it is indeed that.
Thank you Kevin

A bad slave will usually leak down and re-engage.
Did you have the flywheel resurfaced?
Early slippage other than from abuse is normally from mis-adjustment. A lack of freeplay will keep the fork from fully disengaging, allowing slippage and wearing out the throwout bearing. If the clutch pedal seemed too high since the clutch was installed, it was probably mis-adjusted.
The only way the slave cylinder could cause this is if it was sticking. I'm sure you would feel this in the pedal.

For $90 extra it's a great thing to change when the trans is out of the car. IIRC, most clutch kits have the slave cylinder. Do you have a leak from the bottom of the bellhousing? Do you have any issues with the pedal not keeping pressure, where you may have to pump it to allow the trans to shift into the next gear? I know when my slave cylinder was bad, I had to double, triple or quadruple clutch that filthy whore to get it past 2nd I knew my slave cylinder was way bad off!

It sounds like you're talking about cable operated clutches. IIRC, you might be able to adjust the pedal's engagment points....but that's about it for a hydraulic clutch.

Fourth post down I need to do that this week, too. I was having some serious issues w/ getting my car in (any) gear yesterday. Funny thing is, as soon as I turn the car of, the shifter will slip right into gear.
