Im pretty sure I have this right but I just wanted to make sure...that with a manual trans./rear wheel drive car it is OK to tow it with the rear wheels on the ground and the drive shaft still in as long as the trans is in neutral. Do i have this right, im taking my mustang about 200 miles and jsut want to make sure I dont screw up the 4 speed.

Depends on how the trans is lubricated. If the lube is splashed/pumped from the "input side" of the tranny, then NO, don't tow it with the drive shaft turning the remainder of the tranny. You won't have any lube pumping or splashing around.

The safest solution is to either put the whole car on a trailer or disconnect the drive shaft.

For TWO miles - yes
For TWO HUNDRED - NO!!!!!!
Drop the driveshaft and seal the tranny. I towed mine through the Rockies.
