I'm looking at upgrading my SE to have a power drivers seat. It currently just has the manual seat. Is the electrical harness already in the floor underneath the seat in my car so I can just put the seat in and plug it in and be good to go? The reason I ask is that Ford seems to have run fog lamp wires in all the C's so I thought maybe they did the same for the power drivers seat.

Look under your seat, the plugs for my power seat are just there hanging out looking for some action.

should be 2 plugs under the seat, one will have the seatbelt wiring plugged into it, other will be for power seat. You may have to look under the carpet for this one, there's a slit where the wires should pop thru.

I don't have fog light nor power seat wires running in my Mystique. Everyone is always saying that they are in a Contiques. I suspect since my Mystique is a stripper model sans power anything aside from the antenna that this is the reason none of the extra wires were run.

Thanks ibub - I checked under the seat this morning and there were two wiring harnesses sticking out of the floor. Just what I wanted to see. The one was connected for the seat belts and the other one was just hanging there not tucked under the carpet.

Now, can I just plug in the power seat and be good to go or do I need to do something to activate that wiring harness? Like putting in a fuse or something?

if you have a voltmeter, you can test the plug, should have power even without your key in the car. If you don't have power, I'd check your owner's manual or fuse boxes for location and size of proper fuse. There may also be a relay involved, don't know for certain.
