Just got the car back t-day from Ford with the dash kit. I am very disapointed in it. It looks like crap. This realy pisses me off. I think it could have been done better.

Has big rivits across it.

You can see it sticking up.

ugh. I guess I did not know that is what the kit looked like. Hmmmm, I was going to have it done, now I am reconsidering. Thanx for the pics! I bet it would look better on a darker dash (ie midnight blue, etc).

Actually, it looks better than I feared. My dash has now separated to the point where the part behind the defrost vent (toward the driver) has warped up and touches the windshield, and has pulled away from the upper left corner of the passenger airbag cover. I have an appointment at Ted Britt Ford on Monday to have it attended to. We'll see how it turns out, but thanks for posting the pics of yours.

And pardon me for asking, but are those McDonalds french fries stuck in your a/c vent?

Thanks for the quick posting of the pics. Just wondering for those who were able to get the whole dash replaced what does re-engineered dash look like?

FORD should have given you guys the same dash as the SE Sport.
There is a plastic trim section that covers the whole winshield edge,
so there is no possiblity of lift up.

I've got a SE Sport and it doesn't have the plastic thingy you mentioned.

Yea it is friggn' ugly.
Actually that is my vannila airfreshiner. It is a Helo that when you turn on the vents the blades turn. The service dept told me that Ford wont let them replace the dash and they can only use the kit. But the new dashes are suppose to look the same.

Believe me, not as ugly as the bent-up plastic slammed against the windshield. It's up almost five inches from where it's supposed to sit; I can't see the state inspection stickers on the windshield or the windshield wipers from the driver's seat. I was trying to push it down this morning, anticipating how they're going to put in the kit. I couldn't shove it down all the way...but I guess they'll use a heat gun to soften the plastic. I hope they know what they're doing. I had gotten the recall notice last August but the dash was fine until the hot weather returned this Spring, then, Bammo!

gwellington I know how you feel. About a week before they installed the kit, my dash came apart all the way across, and the black grate came all the way out. So I shuved it all back down the best I could. There is still a creas just above the passengerside srs. this is before the kit. Before it got real bad.

Wow Brad, your before pictures look really bad. My dash isn't that bad at all. Just a few places look a little off. Will they still perform the dash kit fix if it doesn't look that warped yet?
