Just wondering how i even kept up. my car doesn't have any mods except for i removed the canister on my intake. beyond that, it's pretty much stock. last night on my way home from dinner a white mustang gt was racing me down the freeway. i had my girl with me and he had no one else. we got onto the freeway and we both just gunned it. i will admit that he did catch up to me, but then after about 100 he couldn't pull on my anymore. it was a lot of fun. just wondering if he was just a really bad driver or that gt's aren't that fast...i'm sure that this topic has been ripped open a couple of times, but look what time it is. if i do a search, i'm fallin asleep...

I test drove a GT with a 5 speed and yes at any speed up to 90 it was faster than a CSVT. Above 90, the car had power but it was not same. But I also did not push the car to see what top speed it could do, it was a test drive after all. I bet the GT with an automatic at high speeds would be bogged down even more.
I did race a Cadillac Eldorado from 70 and we were neck and neck to about 120 but after that my 2000 CSVT started pulling on him and at about 130 he obviously could not keep up so I shut it down. Moral of the story, maybe at high speeds at least an automatic GT is really not faster than a CSVT.

I stayed glued to a 94 yellow convertible GT to 120, then we both shut down approaching traffic....I could almost hear his mind thinking about going home, looking thru Jegs and buying whatever it takes to beet a four door!

Last night I pulled up next to a normal mustang, and kept up with him. I could tell he was a ****ty driver cuz he couldnt shift at all, but it was a good time.
