Hey i have a 96 se with a 2.5mtx. Last week the engine died due to knock. Where can i get a kit to rebuild IE:gaskets, bearings,oil pump and crankshaft if necesarry. Also do you think i will have to replace the crankshaft?

All such individual parts should of course be available from your Ford dealer or most automotive parts suppliers, but I don't know that they come in a kit, although gasket "sets" are common.
Impossible to guess re crank and/or condition of block until disassembled, tested for cracks and compliance with mfr's dimension tolerances.
Not many of us DIY types would of course tackle such a job due to wide availability of used and rebuilt engines.
Are you planning to remove engine or to just drop the pan initially for a look at the bearings?

Why not just go to the junkyard and buy a 3.0L out of a wrecked Taurus/Escape confused No reason to put the stock weak engine back in there when you can have MORE power laugh Also a crate motor from Ford is like $900.00 for the short block, for the 3.0L ofcoarse wink I'd check into that before I would rebuild the 2.5L. Good luck whatever way you go wink
