all,

turns out a need a new PCM. Ford is charging me $300.00

ouch...

any other ideas where I can get one?

thanks MC,

the vortech came with its own chip, so I'll ask about the one w/out the chip.

another question, can I simply replace the PCM with a used one and have it flashed at the dealer? I called parts at the dealer and he wanted my VIN number. Is there any reason I couldn't use a used PCM?

try napa, www.napaonline.com national auto parts stores... they are all around the country and i dont know if they have them for your car, i dont think they call it the PCM, power control module though.. but if you run the part number of the PCM into their web site they will match up with their equivalent part from napa......
