Do the 98s like yours have the Catylytic converter recall from Ford on them too? I know the 95s did and I guess the insides can break apart and melt down, causing an exhaust restriction, which makes the exhaust have to escape before the Cat, through the manifold to headpipe donut gasket (which is only spring loaded tension), so the exhaust can escape in the form of a hiss or as you put it; a swoosh
