I'm not sure if they were in Canada or not but I had AutoShield for my Mystique. Cost a pretty penny but it covered nearly everything.

I have an Autoshield (underwritten by Cigna) extended warranty on my Contour. I got the 6yr/172k plan and that's 6yrs from the date of purchase of the warranty, so I'm covered until Nov. 2005. It's served me very well (it's already paid for itself). There is no deductible if I get the repairs done at the Ford dealership where I bought the warranty from, however I got fed up with that dealership and no longer take my car there. I'd much rather pay the $50 deductible than to deal with them again...

I've had warranty work (water pump) done by an independent mechanic who told me that he was very pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to deal with the warranty company.

If you decide that you need to get an extended warranty (I wouldn't recommend it for all cars), then Autoshield is worth investigating. I'm not sure if are still offering new policies, but if you need contact info I can try to dig it up.

The dealership from where I purchased my car offered me a Fada Gard warranty. I don't remember the specifics but I did compare the two and decided that the Autoshield was the better one for me.
