i just notice a jerking movement when i press on excelerator i don't no if it is the tranny or is there any knowm promblems with the throttle cable or is this a sign that the trans is going. i need all the help i can get

How many miles on it? Is it original? Mine kind of did the same thing just before it's death. I got 132K out of the original tranny. I now have 147K on it and it runs GREAT. 97, 2.5L, GL Sport, ATX.

it has just only 51,400 miles and my mechanic say i might need to change the screen and fluid and maybe a new fuel filter .it seems to do it when i start it up after it sits a while

Your mechanic doesn't know Contiques; they have no screen.
Changing fuel filter always a good source of income; since air filter, plugs and wires can be offered in the follow-up visit when problem persists.
In the Dark Ages they would actually bleed the patients, now the quacks bleed their patients' (customers') wallets.

I had this same problem a while back. My car acted as if I was shifting in and out of neutral while trying to accelerate. Thanks to the replies on this site I replaced the MLP sensor ($30) and saved myself a transmission rebuild. I dont know where its located on the 2.5's but it was under the air intake assembly on mine (2.0). Took me 20-30 minutes to fix.
