Yeah, I know, this has been asked many times before. Sorry!
But, I bought my car auto so my wife could drive to(one vehicle), I'm buying her something else and want to put an MTX in mine. I know its possible. My q's are:
are the electronics the same or close enough? Sensors, ETC.
What upgrades should be done to the trans before it goes in?

I found this list of parts needed using the search function. This list was taken from someone in NECO who did the swap. In addition to this, you will need an ECU from an MTX 'tour. If you want to "upgrade" the tranny, you can always send it to Terry Haines who can install a new differential (Quaife LSD would be my personal choice) and change out the synchros, spider gears, etc. I'm not sure what the cost would be, I've been told around $1300 for the treatment, but that was not from Terry himself.

bingo! my upgrade from terry cost $1270 so thats right on par. luckily all of my syncros were in great shape and didnt have to be replaced. the two big things i got were a quaife and the zetec final drive.

Actually I think I got the $1300 from you indirectly. I was talking to James (svtcarboy) at the national meet about me driving over to Terry's and having some preventative-type work done, and he mentioned your work cost $1300 from Terry. What was the full list of work you had done, if I may ask?

I would LOVE to have an MTX in my 'Tour, but if I'm looking at all that expense, I would hesitate. Then I would think about all the work.

Solution:
I'd sell my ATX Zetec & buy an MTX Duratec.


Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
