Does anyone know where the VSS is located. My speedometer and odometer don't work. They are electrical and I am having trouble locating the connection. I just replaced my bank 1 O2 sensor and I think I must have loosened the connector. After O2 replacement speedo stopped working. I have seen several posts saying you can find it by following the cable, but I don't have a cable. My haynes manual doesn't talk much about the VSS.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!!

I feel like a real idiot. Is it easy to spot? I see a connector just below the left side of the exhaust manifold, but it looks like it goes into the block not the tranny case, but it is close. I see no wires or connectors around where the axles go in the tranny. I have a 95 v-6 with a MTX if that helps any.

Thanks for your help.

Follow the speedometer cable all the way down to the transaxle casing, the VSS sits right there.

I found it!! Thanks everyone. The mistake I made was, I was looking for a wiring harness coming out of the tranny's side. What I found was a black box with no wires coming out of it and 3 wires dangling loose. That's right, the wires had been ripped out of the VSS. So, I will be working on replacing that. This would explain why my speedo doesn't work.

If any of you have any recommendations on replacing the VSS, please let me know.

Thanks a lot!!!
