if you realy want a fun car you should go with a mr2. i had 3 already and they are real addictive. if you can find a 91 - 95 turbo you wont be dissapointed. the 240sx is pretty cool.

If you get an SE-R you still have the FWD issue. That being said they're awesome little cars, the classic 91-94 style anyway. SR20DE power is fun, plenty of mods out there and a real big following. My friend has a 91 SE-R we turbo'd over the winter and we're guessing he's putting down about 330 fwhp. If you look around you can find decent classic SE-R Sentras in your price range and he tells me if you're willing to travel, you can find some 92/93 240's for about 3K. Good luck with your decision man.
coachflip, who posted blow me, is the friend I speak of, lol.

Oh man, I have to reply to this cause this is awesome. Contours are nice riding cars, but lets face it, they aren't known for much power. Potential is lacking. The SE-R now, power is capped at where ever you want to stop at. I spent prolly $6000 to go from 140hp to 330whp. That is unbelievable! I handle vettes, mustangs, civics, integras, camaros and so much more. The 240sx though, now that is a beast. Stock SR20 block can handle 450hp, no problem. Car costs 3-6k and then a turbo motor swap for a stock SR20DET with tranny, harness, ecu and usually driveshaft is 2200-3000k and you have a 225hp RWD beast. Turbo kits are prevelant and so are body kits and JDM parts. you can see my SE-R at http://24.247.60.166Brent

I will have to call BS on a stock SR20 handling 450 HP. I guy I know cranked up the boost on his (can't remember what PSI) and blew a rod through the block. IT was NOWHERE near 450 HP.

Do you think I could find somebody willing to buy my car for what it's worth? I have done all needed (and unneeded) maintenance to the engine. New brakes and some other stuff. I'm looking for a miata or a nissan 240sx or sentra se-r in the $3000-$4000 price range. Maybe less and spend extra money on modding it. What do ya'll think? Am I just crazy?
Can I have your UDP?

Well, as much as I want to get rid of the 'tour. I think I'll be keeping it (unless someone wants to buy it for what it's worth without me removing all I've done to it). I'll keep it as a little project car and it'll eventually get what it deserves (turbo), but in a couple of years I'll probably by a second car. I think either a miata, mr2, or 240sx. Miata is looking very tempting due to its handling prowess, reliability, and the fact (according to info from someone on here) that the stock block will take 8 psi w/o trouble. I'll be able to keep driving the 'tour and do a full re/up-build of the engine and have something real nice. I like the 240sx, but I think just too many people have moddified them. The mr2, sorta appeals more to the ricer folk. I want something that is fast and a good handler and fairly inexpensive that will really impress those who know what it is, but not really appeal to all the ricers. So miata is looking good to me.
