A friend of mine left her car with me while she's in Mexico, and I took a short ride in it this afternoon. It's a stock 2001 Mustang GT 5-speed. There's just something so cool about cruising along in 1st or 2nd gear, nailing the throttle, and having the rear tires break traction. Not to mention that exhaust note!

But after a few minutes, I remembered why I got rid of my Mustang (I had a 94). Sucky clutch, terrible shifter, lousy handling, not enough interior room, and sub-par build quality. Sure, most of it could be fixed with aftermarket parts, but I'm pretty sure I've outgrown that phase of my life.

Still, it was fun for the few minutes I drove it. If I drove it on a daily basis, I know I'd get myself into trouble again. If you haven't driven one before, you owe it to yourself to try it just once.

No, no.. Outgrown cars like the Mustang. Power is nice, but a car needs more than that to impress me anymore. When I was 19, it was a different story.

I agree, although there is truth in saying, "I ran out of money modding cars."

Heh, it hasn't even been a month since I sold my 94 Formula and I already miss it like crazy... I guess it had something to do with shifting a V8 at 6700rpm I do seem to miss that car, until I get stuck in traffic, hit a bumpy road, need to carry more than one person, etc...

After blowing over $10k in mods on my Formula, I can safely say that the SVT is staying stock!
