Howdy all,
I can't figure this one out. I left my garage, drove down the ally just idling along in second. When I got to the end of the ally, no one was coming, so I cruised up to the stop sign at the end of the street just, again, idling in second. No cars coming, roll through the stop sign and go on down the street. As I shift up to third I can feel the box start to "crash". Hmmm....try fourth, same thing. By now I'm just coasting. I can't get any gears. They don't even crash now, just balk.
So, I get to the next stop sign and finally get second. I ease off the clutch with as little slip as I can and start heading back home. Just for grins I try third, no problem. Then fourth, no problem. I cruise around the block a few times and it gives me nary a problem. So I run my errands and get home and the whole time it was just fine.
Now, what is the explanation for this bit of weirdness?
