There's a Mobil 1 oil fill cap on ebay now, and there are assorted ones available on the internet. Exactly how universal are they, like will a GM F-body fit a Duratec?

Just wondering ...

Well, after a trip to the parking lot, evidently GM and Ford are not the same.

Yup, been there too. I just wondered whether or not there's a 5W30 one out there. There is one here ( http://www.mdpp.bigstep.com/generic94.html )for Pontiac GPs, but I'm a thinkin that they aren't going to fit. How was the customer service at that shop?

Well so far so good, they took the order quickly and have updated me as to when it was shipped. As far as the 5w30 it is a Mustang shop so it is Mustang oil. But i plan on scaning it and changing the 10 to a 5 with a cool printer at the local Ofice Max they have contact paper which comes out very clean looking. I also ordered this to go along with it.

Got my oil cap in very quick shipping, you pay for it though 27 and change. And you have to make your own label for the 5w30 but i bet not many have this. If you cant see the pic go here. Sorry but I can not seem to get the posting of a pic right???

Just FYI, a lot of your GM vehicles utilize a cap that locks in a half turn instead of the screw down style like the Duratecs. My F-Body has an oil fill cap like that... it's still taking a little while to get used to.

So in answer to the topic- no, oil fill caps are not all universal. Maybe universal from one Ford to another Ford, or one GM to another GM, but I cannot prove this so I'll just leave it as make sure you get one that is specific to your application.

Well the oil cap from the yahoo site does fit in my Duratec. Would there be any kind of intrest a group buy on these? With the 5w30. I will check on prices, if interested just post here for now. As soon as I find out on any kind of pricing I will start a thread in the GB section.
