hey does anyone know if a exhuast from a 99 couger would fit on a 99 contour sport? would it need to be modified at all?

If taken off the cougar, you need to know what comes with the setup..muffler, resonator...ect. Where the muffler was placed and all that jazz. Sometimes it will fit, other times it wont. Our rear is a lot small than the contours so certain mufflers that fit on a contour are too big for the cougar and vise versa. What does the piping do and where is the muffler, if included, and is it center in center out..or what.

It is the Pacesetter exhaust system for Cougar it has 16 gauge mandrel bent, aluminized steel that is finished in black. A high flow performance muffler and dual chrome plated and resonated, 3 1/2" diameter exhuast tips are used. Tubing diameter is 2 1/4" The muffler is a Magnaflow 14832. Do you think this would work on my contour?

IMHO, Pacesetter is crap.

If you have to pay anything for it, it is too much. The place I work is a Pacesetter distributor, and I don't recommend it to anyone. It iwll rust oin about 2-3 years and need replacement. So with the exception of the Magnaflow. all tubing will need to be replaced soon if it is used.

what would you recomend, just taking it to a exhuast shop and running some pipes and use the muffler that ill get and top it off with some polished tips? thats what i was going to do, i got quoted $125 to do that, is that a good deal?
