I want to remove my ding gaurds but dont want fugly marks where they were. are there holes under them? Do I take them off the same way I took off the badges? will my paint have marks on it where they where? Same Q's about the black trim arround the bumpers.

no the car doesnt have holes behing them, but you problably will have racing stripes. Your car problably isnt going to match the spot where the ding guards were.

I tore the ding guards off my SVT last weekend. The double-sided tape was a sonofa... to get off but it looks great now. I had to use some goo-gone on a rag and scrub the area where the guards were to get all of the glue residue off. After that wash, then wash again, then wax. Absolutely beautiful. No "racing stripes" or anything else left behind once I cleaned it up. I have seen stripes on two other Knauberized 'tours; in both cases it only appeared on one of the doors, apparently from a repaint after an accident.

I can snap some pictures if it'll help.

OK, thats good. I'll give it a shot. Should I use the dental floss method?

I would recommend it, at least to get them started. I couldn't find any fishing line lying around the house, so I bought one of those cheap-ass $1.50 spools at Wal-Mart. For each off the four ding-guards I used the line to start removing. I found that once you get it started with the fishing line its just easier to grab hold and start yanking it off, with enough care to not damage the car. Flossing each of them off completely would've been tedious and painful.
