I had the same hose go out on me, the worst thing about it is that it comes coupled with two vacuum hoses and runs from the top left of the engine down to the heater core. The hose is also a larger diamater on one end than the other. Mine had rubbed through on a connector on the top of the intake and was leaking a lot. What i ended up doing was getting the correct size hose for the top connection and running it down to about 8 inches from the heater core where i got connected it to a piece of hose the correct size for the heater core by using a reducer. I can't remember what size hoses i needed but i think it was 5/8 on one end and 3/4 on the other. Oh and make sure to change the routing of the hose to miss the connector on top of the intake.

I ended up paying the 108 USD for the hose. You are correct about the hose, it had a piece of the intake rub against it and cause a hose to be worn through the hose. I am planning on putting tape around the hose at this location. All owners
Should consider protecting that hose from wear through as it is such a high cost item.

Ford engineers please note the package problem with this design

Can't you just get a double barbed hose fitting and splice it back together? If it's a long section of hose, get two barbs and a lenght of hose cut to fit. Total cost should be under $10.
