I had brand new rotors put on about 1 year ago... Should they need to be turned now? Everytime I brake, the car shakes and shutters, and I just had the tires rotated and balanced, but it didn't hlep. Any advice?

Its possible you have some warpage on the rotors. Have them turned if they are not too thin and replace the pads.

Not sure if your trouble is with the front or rear rotors.. I have had similar problems with rear rotors. I think it is related to the hand brake sticking as mentioned in the Common Problems SectionI had the dealer fix it the first time, but guess what.. it is back again!

yes you can turn them. Be sure to have the torque on the wheel lugs right when you put the wheels back on. Anyone know the torque specs????
Have the fronts turned first, reinstall and drive. If still wobbly then do the rears too.

My vehicle had the same symptoms with after about 1 yr or replacing the rotors and pads. I recently replaced the cheap pads (without turning the rotors) with Bosh pads and have had much better success. You ma want to updrage to a good pad like Bosh.

95 foot-pounds on the lug nuts. Ditto on the importance of not overtightening those lug nuts to maintain the rotors. Keep those guys at the shop with the impact wrench away!

you had the tires rotated, did they put the old air gun on it?? if so they probably warped the rotors...... i have the cheap Auto zone rotors put on my car and never had any trouble with them, but then i never let them put the air gun on my car.. when needing tires i take one off and bring it to the place and take it home and put it on and use a torque wrench to put the torque back on the tire........ also check the air pressure when getting tires they put 50 lbs in mine and i always have to take some air out.........
