Hi all! I have 1999 Contour LX. I just wanted to know is it normal to hear a ticking sound after you turn off your car. If this is not normal is there anything I could do about it?

Hi there!

No need to cross-post to different forums, you'll get your answer if you place you question in the right one.

Ticking sound is probably coming from your exhaust cooling down. Pay attention to the location where it comes from. If it's the exhaust, it's fine!

what about your brakes, if you drive hard then the clicking sound are your pads cooling down.

It's the gerbils running back to their little holes in the engine.

yeah, i gave a bum $9238 to diagnose this problem and thats what he told me. he said my taliban was bad and then ran away with my money. I never saw him again, but he said his name was "Terry Hainesmith" (or something like that). he also said that he worked for ford....hmm, i wish i could get in touch with him about how to fix it.....
