I did the side marker mod last weekend with the diode and
the resistor as writen in the HOW TO list to have them half
bright with the parking light and i read too fast it's for
the 98+ not the 95.
When i finished my wiring thing and try my setup my flasher
was way to fast like when you have a burned light.
Then i read back the instruction "ooooops" i saw the mistake
i removed the the resistor and the diode but the bad was done. Now if i'm using the flasher alone, it work well but
if i turn on the parking light and try the flasher it goes
too fast, my hazard light are flashing ok with or without
the parking light.
Any idea witch parts to look at to replace ?
If yes don't tell me it's 500$ module.
Too bad Jeff "J-Lab" was not there to watch me

Ron

I have no resistors on my sidemarkers.....why did you try resistors?

The resistor is to get the half-bright effect while the parking lights are on. I used a resistor and a diode when I did mine.

It was supposed to be a good idea at first to have the parking light half bright.
Now i wonder witch parts blows up.

Morale of this story: Read the darn instruction

Common guys give a shot, what to check !

uhh... maybe your bulbs got messed up somehow?? maybe the reconnect where the resistor was isn't the best??

i dunno, but i think it'd be cool to have them twice as bright (like maybe buy some halogen turn signal bulbs ), but they already nearly shine farther than my low beams (they DID before i got in two seperate accidents which killed drivers, but knocked cover off passenger, which made it twice as bright as low beam.... new headlights with non cloudy lenses help A LOT!!).

http://insayne_kokane.tripod.com/8-22-2003.html if you wanna see pics of it while it was wrecked, 4th & 5th pic down.

what it looks like now:
http://www.shadyeights.com/david_kane/96_contour.html
(you can see the non-cloudy replacements.... nice and reflective)

so yeah.... sometimes for no reason my left turn signal flashes fast (both bulbs flashing at the time), don't know why, maybe accident damage from skinned wires (i just taped em up to seal again)

Gat already brake/turn and backup halogen

And i don't know what happend tonight but my
flasher gat the right beat
Must have done something good today, God love me now !
Did not do anything,(except PTL?) maybe i had a sticky contact somewhere

And you should have read or i may said i should have write
"side marker half bright" in my original post it was not
the parking light.

Happy Ron !

OH, were you talkin about the ones behind the wheels in the fender?? if so, then sorry about that, wasn't thinkin too much....

that also means i get why putting the resistor in....

maybe it's too many lights for the module to work with correctly (?)
