My Local ford dealership is [censored]...

They always take longer than they tell me it will. They always call me saying they broke something new. They always say they will give me a nice discount and instead its $6 off an $800 ordeal.

I've broken my crank pulley last time this all happened:

Drivin along.... Battery light comes on..... goes off... comes back on goes back off... Next think you know belt flies off, crank pully shoots out the fender *No wheel wells in because the STOCK TIRES rub and it sounds like a dying geraff.

I dunno whats up
Now the car when it's shifting, if you let off the gas vibrates massivly and sounds like the tranny is going to explode..

Any takers on whats wrong?

Want a stock crank pulley? I have my old one...about 40K on it.

Ford has their Tech's work off CD rom's....get this, when i had broke the right motor mount (dont ask, not my fault) it took them n0t 1, not2, not3, not4 times but the fifth time tey actually got the right part in. i had off work for 2 weeks, no it was not nice, i had no car to drive. Ever since i had my probe i REFUSED to take my car to any ford dealership. i have a friend that used to work there (wernersville ford, PA) and he said all the tech's were ASE certified, but knew absolutly nothing. they quoted me 8 yes 8 hours of labor to replace my serp belt. i hung up the phone, did it in 30 minutes myself. F**K***u** FORD!!!!!

My 96 behaves in the same fashionn not as bad as the first post. I have looked yet but I am thinking it is a motor mount or maybe wheel bearings.

Dude, The more I drive it the worse it gets, I ripped my wheel off and [censored] around but NOTHING is loose. So it HAS to be one of the following:

Option A: Motor Mount *Doubt it's covered by warranty*

Option B: Tranny is about to explode *Covered but I'd rather not replace it*

Option C: It's a FORD and they have this magic button they push when they don't like a customer because the customer doesn't like other people ot work on his car but kinda had to cause his dad makes him..


Anyways, did I mention that it used to do that famous: When under pressure *AKA when Im floorin' it on an on-ramp* It used to do that SLIGHT vibration..


If it **IS** a motor mount, how much does this cost to replace? Am I better off just taking the engine out and giving it to the shop to Bore and stroke, and replace the mounts on my own while it's out? How can I tell if it really is the mount?

I have yet to buy a shop book for this bloody aborotion of a car. I actually like the car. I think it has smart looks and with the proper treatments has nice curb appeal. But I be damed if it has every run well for any longer than 5 minutes.

The reason I think it is the engine mount has to do with the shifting feeling and clunking sound that it eminates forward of the firewall when I goose the gas and promptly let off. It jsut feels like something is really loose in the engine compartment. And I have not yet found any missle hazzards in the forecastle.

If any of the seasoned veteran owners of this platform could chime in on this I would really appreciate it.

I could not find any how to info or part numbers. Let me know if you can. I can honestly see why it would be the mounts that are causing this obscene noise.
