Voodoo fest in New Orleans is going to be a three day event this year. I missed it last year but saw tool at the fest in 2001 and i had a blast being there all day. THe tool show was at night and it was a little cold and there ended up being a couple of small fires but no injuries. This year the line up is looking pretty good, it doesn't really matter what kind of music you like you can probably find something you like as long as it is in the modern era and not country. The fest is on halloween weekend this year and for any of you that have never been to the big easy for Halloween you don't know what you are missing, i mean people wear costumes 364 days a year there and the other day is halloween when the freaks are out full force. Check it out. VooDoo fest 2003

This year it is the whole halloween weekend, I am trying to see how many of my friends will be coming in from out of town so i can reserve rooms for us, if it were only one day we would drive in but since it is 3 days i don't feel like driving back and forth and not to mention the after parties to go to. In 2001 we just went to that bar on canal right by city park i think it is Par 4 or something like that this year we plan on going all out.

I went in 2001 amd had an awesome time. Some guy passed a blunt that was laced with PCP (didn't know until after I smoked it...") and that made the time that much more interesting. Aside from that fiasco, the enitre day was amazing...

Seriously, there are MUCH better bars than Par4 and Parley's. Since the fest is 3 days, let me know where ya'll stay and I will give you some cool places to check out, and no I am not talking about the Quarter although there are some great "not so well known" bars. Let me know what you are into and I will give you some info.

Heather, do you have any suggestions on hotels. I have already brought everyone that is coming with me to the Quarter in the past so i really don't want to stay in the quarter plus i really don't want to pay quarter prices for a room.

Depends on where you want to stay. There are places in Metairie that would probably be cheaper than New Orleans. Honestly, do an expedia.com search. That is where I found the best deals in Chicago. Metairie is fairly close (10 minutes) to Marconi Meadows (if in fact that is where the concert is). I'll check around and get back to you.

Yeah i was thinking metarie I tried doing a search on hotels.com and all the choices they gave were in the quarter. I wish i could remember where we used to stay when me and a friend used to come in from florida. I don't mind staying in metarie because it really isn't that far out. I know my way around New orleans pretty good ( been there alot) so i don't really mind driving. I used to stay with a friend that lived off of power blvd but he moved to missouri so i now have to fend for myself.
