Ok so I brought my car into ford to get a diagnostics check on it because of the bad idel, and not to mention the dieing of my car. But anyways the end result was that the mechanic says I need to replace a vacum line, MAF sensor, and the dpfe sensor. He also quoted me $515.00 to do it all to. I know I can do the MAF sensor, but im not real sure about the dpfe sensor and the vacum line. I imagine there is more then one vacum line so I have no idea what to replace. He has on the sheet he has the MAF and the vacum line together with a 1 infront of it, do u think that he is refering that the maf and the vacum line have something to do with each other? I have a hanes manual so I think I can do the work myself, but any extra help would be very apreciated. Thanks. 2.0 zetec

Hmmmmmmm... when the car heats up and is in idle. Do you
hear a high pitched sound? Does it do this only when your
in gear with the brake on, maybe worse with AC on?

It will do it in any gear, with the AC on it is worse but it will do it without the AC on also. I dont really hear anything, I do recall hearing a click when it finally picks up and goes. How do I figure out what vacume line is leaking or whatever. Thanks

"A DPFE sensor has no bearing on idle it is a digital pressure feedback exhaust or EGR sensor that tells the computer that the EGR is actually functioning...You need to look at you IAC--idle air control valve...this is a common problem on fords not to mention a few other small ones. You could try disconnecting the sensor and you problem should go away in normal idle however in acceleration it may still cause a stall since you computer is running on the default setting for this sensor....You can try cleaning it but it is much easier just to replace it."
