While vaccuming my tour today i noticed that the carpet under the passanger side floormat was wet. I had noticed this once before but then i thought that my GF might have spilled something, well this time noone has been in the car but me for at least a week. Is it possible that the water could be from AC condensation. It isn't a whole lot of water, the carpet was really more damp than wet. I stuck my hand behind the console against the firewall and it feels a little damp in there, is this where i could expect AC condensation to come from or could this be another problem.

I JUST got this fixed. At first, we resealed the box that collects the condensation, then we actually changed the box out (to the tune of $700 because Ford redesigned the box in '97). However, it was something else that needed to be sealed because my water leak occured when I had the defroster running and it was raining. I will have to check with my mechanic to see what finally sealed it. In your case, the box probably just needs to be resealed (which is what was done 5 years ago when I bought the car and it had that problem). If you know someone that can reseal it, I would see if that fixes the problem.

Today when i get off i am going to get under the console to see if it is the box leaking if so I will probably take a couple days off next week to pull it all apart and fix it. First thing i am going to try is clearing the drain line that goes through the firewall.

The doors have a tendency to leak too. That is what happened to me. The glue that holds the polyshield (a thin foam sheet inside the door) has a tendency to come un-done and then rain water leaks through the door, over the plastic interior door sill, and on to the floor of the car. You can fix it by taking off the door pannel and resealing the polyshield with a good adhesive sealant.

Well i have found the source of my problem, there is a leak where the condensor box meets the firewall. I am going to reseal next week.
