My problems just started recently, about a week ago. The car drive great for about 10 to 15 mins, then the almight fan kicks in and sounds like i'm going to take off. When the fan kicks it the temp gauge jumps to almost the red and when it kicks down(sometimes) its back down to normal or lower. When it goes back down I can smell antifreeze. When i try to accelerate it sometimes hesitates and tries to die. I haven't thrown any CEL's, also around the same time my A/C has quick working. A bunch of so called car experts tell me i blew a headgasket with out even looking at the engine. I have checked for the signs water on the dipstick as well as a foamy residue on the dipstick as well, nothing like that at all. I have no mods done to the engine at all btw. The antifreeze level is pretty good. I have been reading some previous post about the water pumps and sometimes i read a post that is exactly like what i'm experiencing and some aren't! Its getting to the point where i don't wanna drive the car and do any further damage if there has been any done. I need help from the almighty problem solveing guru's of CEG!

If you still have heat, then change the thermostat.
If no heat, change the water pump.

have the cooling system and resivor cap pressure checked.

It might be something simple like a failed or sticking check valve in the pressure cap on the coolant resivor not allowing the system to pressurize.
