My SVT's drivers seat feels loose and has "play" in it front to back. I haven't looked at it yet but can anyone get me going in the right direction?

Common problem, slop in the power mechanism. Had mine to the dealer with little success. Am looking at aftermarket seats without power, like Recaro Style model :rolleyes:

That is the SVT "rocking chair" option. Bugs me too. Complaint to dealer with no results. Reply: It looks ok to us...

even better yet , The other day when I mentioned this to my Service Advisor, he goes, never had a problem like this with contours..Man , I felt like punching him in the face.

ANd that goes for all seats actually not just the power seats.

It is like the brackets that grabs the rail get loose towards the front end of the rails , which causes the play.. along with a whinsy back reclin ing mechanism.. I bet that with the roller type reclining seats of the 95-97 it used to be better. But when ford NA decided to do it the NA way the y , well they did just that. (-;

to show you whatthey think of us Americans, the Mondeo in Europe gets Recaro seats, we get reject seats from the Lincoln. IMO, too thick, too heavy, too sloppy. I'm going to England to get a passenger side Recaro (their passenger=our driver side) laugh
