Hello all. I have a delema... I have a 95 SE 2.5 V6. I have had it off the road for a bit of time to do some much needed maintenance. Anyway, I noticed that the main engine wireing harness is cracked and burned in places.
I need to replace this, buy before I call the dealer and ask for this, does anyone have one? I figured all of you that did 3.0 conversions, and what not might have one from your old engine.
If anyone has this part floating around, that might be willing to part with it, please let me know.
For reference the ford part number is: F5RZ-9D930S6A And the tag number on the old harness is: 94BG-9H589-BBD
I would be forever endebted to anyone that could see their way to helping.
Thanks in advance, Jim

Are you aware there is a Ford extended warranty on wiring harnesses? See "attention......." post in this forum or do a search in problems.

I am aware of this, but I have 189K + miles on the car, and the extended warrentee will not cover it now.

Determine what your mileage may have been when the actual recall was made. You probably had more than 100k miles at that point in time. Then go into your dealer and see if they are willing to work with you on doing the recall. Since the car is useless to you without a new wiring harness, And it is a fire hazard to drive without it, maybe you can just pay for the harness, and let them install it for FREE ?
Another option would be to contact your INSURANCE BROKER. Maybe you can get it repaired and only pay your deductible ?

List on the fuel injector harness alone is $640, though you ought to be able to get it for around $350...
I don't even WANT to know how much the main engine harness costs!!! I'd guess upwards of $1500!
