A few weeks back I noticed my airbag light flashing.. it only did it one night so I disregarded it. On my way to and from chicago I noticed that my battery light would come on at redline actually letting me know when to shift. Is this something I should be worried about? Is my battery on the verge of death?

Cars can act weird when the charging system in on the fritz. Take it to Pep Boys or some auto parts store and ask them to check the charging system. Most places have portable battery & alternator testers to determine if that's the correct course of action (replacing the battery)

Perhaps not, yet, but be alert for possible future alt problems.
Battery best tested with load check; ignition off measure volts (12.5), with headlights on volts should hold at 11.5+, anything less or rapid drop indicates bat problem.

got my battery and alternator checked for charge... my battery isn't the strongest thing is the world.. I think load test a little over 12 volts.. and alternator is strong.. so I migh be looking into an ultima battery coming up here soon.
