Success! Had check engine light coming on regularly.
Hesitation when accelerating.I purchase a BR-2 OBD-II interface unit which lets you use your computer as a diagnostic scanner.
Found codes PO171/174 (bank 1and 2 lean mixture). I checked vacuum hoses and and found split hose at pcv valve. Also had code PO302 (misfire on cylinder #2).Put new set of spark plug wires on and she purred like a cat. Cleared check engine light and codes. No more CEL. This interface saved me about $500 at the dealer. Anybody wants info on this unit email me at... gbur51@hotmail.com ... it costs about $80 bucks and is well worth it.There is a website where you can do a simulation etc.

Why not post the info on the unit and website here for all to see. BTW is that Cdn or US$? What sort of computer do you require?

It is US Dollars.The unit works on a 486 and up. A lap top is preferred as you might want to do a drive test(let someone drive while you watch the computer). Don't have permission to post website as he has a lot of spam and hackers screwing with the website.
This Unit worked extremely well on my '97 Contour V6.
Don't want to use up to much space here but my contour has 4 o2 sensors.When CEL comes on how are you supposed to know which one is kaput.Trip to the dealer here in BC Canada is $90.00. Then there's parts and labour.

Code from OBD-II scan tells you which sensor.

Sounds like http://www.obd-2.com . I like Alex's software, and his interfaces are simple to use with a laptop.
