broke down on me AGAIN today. at the gas station i pump my lovely gas while on lunch from work, and the car wouldn't start back up for me. I'm pretty sure that it's the alternator. i wish i didn't still owe $5000 on it, i would trade it in for even a geo metro mad mad mad mad mad mad

what kind of problems are you having with the car? i am having some problems with my 95 LX 2.5 MTX car discharging the battery, especially when the air cond. is on it has gotten so bad for me, i haven't driven the car in about four weeks. i am tired of sitting on the side of the road waiting for the wrecker! i guess i will just keep driving the 89 cavalier. send me an e-mail if you get a chance, we can take turns bashing our cars, and maybe find a soloution some how.

a bad alternator will drain a charged battery

i think we're reaching 'replace the alternator' stage on some of our older tours now

mine is whirring for the last few months now...hopefully it wont leave me stranded before i can replace it

DUDE ... a 95_ anything is going to need repairs and break down . A 1995 car is OLD ... Fix it and drive it. It is NOT the cars fault that you over paid and you still owe $ 5000. Hell your car is only worth $ 2,500. A contour is a GREAT used car to buy . When you pay a cheap price that is.......

well the shop called and said that the alternator is bad, they're going to replace it(warrenty), but that isn't why the car won't start. he said the starter isn't getting power or something i don't know i'll let you all know when i know the mechanical terms.
ok and it's a 95se. paid $6000 for it 75,000 miles it had 17" chrome katoik reactors on it. the rims cought my attention, and the side skirts made it look like it was droped so it didn't even look like a contour. i bought it basically for the looks. i didn't know i would be paying at LEAST $200 extra for repairs EVERY month...............don't konw about you but, i think all 95 contours suck. my 91 corsica is still hulling ass at 140,000 miles FORD SUCKS MY WEE WEE shocked

Its funny how the extremes come about...I had a 96 GL with 120K with absolute no problems whatsoever, not even squeaks or rattles...same with my current 99SE...The car that gave me more problems was my VW Scirocco 16V...I have always had great longevity in my cars,,,but i never revved them high unless in an emergency...

He's chaaarging!!!...(add scottish accent)...
