On my 95 SE w/ 179K, still WAS running strong, just all of a sudden on starting, this "marble like" sound comes from the left side of the engine under the black dual cam shaft covers. There is a timing chain, but havent heard of mine breaking nor skipping the sprocket.......any ideas? Tensioner pulley??? The car wont start right over, but then finally will. At reving hight RPMS the sound goes away, just idleing, the sound is bad!!! confused

Yes.
Sounds like the auto tensioner gave it up. It uses oil pressure so when you spin/rev the engine up it increases the oil presure and the sound goes away.

Get it fixed ASAP of you will be looking for a new engine!
