When I start My car, a yellow light which looks like some sort of canister comes on. it's on the left side of my instument panel, and it has an X going through it. It stays on for like 2 or 3 minutes and then goes off. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks, Vinny

yep...thats your coolant sensor telling you somethings a'miss. there's an explanation in the FAQ on the main page, apparently, the car coolant sensor is very sensitive and likes the coolant to be over the "MAX" line marked on the resevoir (its a yellow, or clear jug on the far left fender wall in the engine bay...eh, i just want to make sure you know exactly what to do). Just put some redline water, or distilled water mixed with coolant (when the car has cooled off, obviously), and you'll be fine wink No problem yet...just keep an eye on that temp guage...if it goes past "rm" then you might want to look into flushing the system, replacing the water pump and pump belt (check that too, cuase my belt was shredded at only 44K!, its only a $2 part, and easy to replace)let us know if you start having cooling problems, its VERY common in these cars even with low mileage....bummer ain't it?

thanks for your reply, i'll keep you posted if there is any problem. I have to bring it to ford for service next week, so i'll tell them about it. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything too serious. I'll keep an eye on my temp gauge too. Thanks again, Vinny
