i got a little problem!! i just had to take my tb off to get the upper intake off to replace a bad valve cover gasket.. and now that everything is back together my gas pedal feels like it's sticking.. as in i can puch it down a 1/4 of the way and then it feels like something is getting hung up but i can keep pushing and it does go past the point and all the way to WOT the car also returns to idle perfectly.. i have no idea whats wrong, maybe the tb needs a little lubrication or something?? any help would be great. this isn't making the car undriveable.. just annoying...

Thanks~ if you help that is laugh

i think i have something similar with my car...when i drive on the freeway for a length of time and then come to a stop...when i give the car gas it feels as if the pedal doesnt want to move...a little more pressure and it proceeds as normal...feels like the cable is binding

i've been planing to buy another throttle cable but im not sure i wanna tackle trying to install it

I've always had the same problem, on both my stock TB and my new 63mm one, especially after running hard. I figure it's just junk making it stick closed slightly. I have to make sure to blip the throttle after running a 1/4 mile before I make the turn to the return road (with the clutch in) to unstick it because it gets REALLY stuck then.

I have felt the same resistance with the TB off, so I'm convinced it isn't the cables. Happens if the TB is freshly cleaned or not. Probably just a "feature" of the Duratec's fuel vapor recovery system.

Hi,

Can you operate the TB freely by hand...any glitches then? If so, check the cruise control cable for kinks. When you operate the normal throttle the cruise cable attach point slides along it's cable. If there is a kink in the CC cable it might cause a glitch. Check also the TB return springs for binding. If the TB does operate freely by hand, go inside and check for any obstructions under the dash...hanging wires, sound proofing material, carpet, etc. If nothing there check the throttle cable by holding the TB WFO and remove the cable from the cable guide drum. The cable on mine will easily allow the pedal to fall to the floor when released. If yours doesn't, you might need to un-kink, lube, or replace the cable. A remote possibility might be the TPS or the TB shaft might have a dirty bearing/seal. Remember, "The first thing to go wrong is the last thing you fixed" That's always my troubleshooting motto! laugh
