so my sis now drives the 95 SE. She was telling me that the right front fog light has blown out. Now, i have not changed the bulb before, is it hard? will i need to jack up the car? or put it on ramps?
One more thing, I have a set of PIAA 959 from my Honda Accord way back that I surprisingly found in a box in the garage. Will they fit into the fog light spot in the car? And if not, can somebody suggest what they would do if they had a pair of these? Where would you put them? If any one can photoshop it that would be cool too.
But, main question is how hard is it to change the bulb? I know the piaa's are little to large for this car. but i thought i'd use them for something. thanks in advance. later.

There is an access door below the light facing the ground. Pop it off and reach your hand up in and twist it out. The fog light holes are roughly 3.5" in diameter if that helps at all. I am unfamiliar with the PIAAs that you mention, but they will most likely be heavier then the stock foggies. Mount them to the car and not the bumper cover if possible. The vibrations that the cover has will make your bulbs have a short life, plus the bouncing beam pattern would be annoying.

thanks jon. it was as easy as 1-2-3.
Now, i have no clue if the PIAA 959's can look decent on a 95SE. Kind of want them to be installed onto a car rather than have them sit around. Oh well. if anyone knows if 959's look decent on a pre 98 let me know.

Searching on them I found that they are somewhat pricey! The silver trim ring isnt perfectly round is it? What about its diameter? I dont have a pic when I had my Hellas installed (with them turned off), but your look would probably be quite similar to what I had. They did look very nice. Keep in mind though, they are going to be mounted fairly low to the ground and will see many more damaging materials then the headlamps do (small rocks). My Hellas were down there for four months and the glass lenses are already heavily pitted. If you put them on, perhaps look for something to protect the lenses with. A UV resistant plexiglass or lexan mounted in front of the unit would work nicely and be cheap insurance.

Yeah Jon, they were friggin pricey back in the day. I'm not sure if they are still as much but i'd imagine they that they still aren't cheap either. Back in like 93' those were like the only quality projector fog lights in the market that I was interested in. I had them in my Honda Accord EX-R (EX) in the US. but anyhow, i had to pay for about 1.5 hrs of installation at a shop because they had to chop/cut out 2 points in the bumper to have them put in so they looked flush below the bumper and actually be mounted on to metal. This looked SLEEK back then! yeah, back then....but also did not allow for the fogs to get ripped off as it used to be the case with PIAA's. Until the Piaa 1000's came out, i guess that's when these guys began to be less common, due to their size and applications. But i'll try to dig out a picture of these 959's on my Honda, if i can find one. But i'll put in a link or something. Jon, since i've seen that your car is hooked up with some nice light work. Wonder if you could suggest where and if it's possible to make these fit and look almost stock on the 95 SE. I was so happy to dig these lights out in my garage, but now i'm shaking my head that i have these nice lights but they have nothing to go on to. I'm itching to put them on to the 95se but not my other car b/c i'm leaving that stock, of course unless i get another vehicle a little later down the road, i'll have use for them then. The best part of these units, are obviously the lights but also, the relays are solid. PIAA 959's

With this pic for sizes, it looks like you could probably put them back just far enough to let the bumper cover do what it wants without touching them. The hole is just slightly smaller then 3.5" (90mm) because my Hellas could slide into it until their case reached the 90mm size. If you sat them just barely behind the fog opening, and perhaps just slightly lower then center (it would look centered from a distance because you couldnt see under them) and just far enough back you would probably be ok. You'd have 1/4" of overlap on the top/bottom and about 3/4" on the sides. That would be ok though because they would look round because of the fog opening. You could hang them from the crash bar with minimal effort. Measure the height you need off the ground with the bumper cover in place. Remove the cover and then make them fit (the fun part ).
Still, protect these lamps. The Hellas were only $54/ea and I was pissed when I saw how pitted they were. I can try to macro a pic with the digicam if you wish.
Id try to help with measurements but my bumper cover no longer exists in the condition it was in when the Hellas were there so I cant use it for reference.

Now, taking the bumper off is that a tough task? I haven't ran a search but I would think cutting, trimming part of the bumper cover will be a little tough to try to fit the lights on the crash bar. But if the removal of the front bumper cover is a simple task, i'll look into it this weekend or something.
